Andrea started his F1 carrier as a very young boy. At the beginning was his driving style dangerous and wild. Many of races finished in crashes. Because of that, he had a nickname Andrea De Crasheris. But he always raced with heart and made many good resultants. He spent long 14 years in F1 and raced 208 races. He has never won a race but he had always many fans.

At 22 years, 10 months and 4 days, Andrea became the youngest-ever driver to start from pole position when he achieved fastest qualifying time for the 1982 USA-West GP. He would held that honor for almost 12 and a half years, finally being demoted by Rubens Barrichello's pole for the 1994 Belgian GP

Andrea sadly passed away on 05th October 2014. He was was killed in a motorcycle accident outside of Rome. He was riding a Suzuki 600, he lost control and struck a guardrail. He was killed on impact.
